The Laurel Montana Community Foundation
The Laurel Montana Community Foundation will award the following scholarships on behalf of these generous benefactors:
George and Virginia Ulshak Memorial Scholarship #1 is $2000
George and Virginia Ulshak Memorial Scholarship #2 is $2000
Larry and Nancy Lorfing Memorial Scholarship is $2000
George and Virginia Ulshak Memorial Scholarship #3 is $1000
Laurel Education Foundation Scholarship is $1500
Laurel Rotary Club Scholarship is $1225
Olson Family Scholarship is $1000
Don and Colleen Rutt Memorial Scholarship is $1000
Laurel Chamber of Commerce Scholarship  is $500
These families and organizations want this money used in a post-secondary extension of schooling.


Please respond to the contact form questions and then in a separate email send the answers to the following questions.

  • Why do you want to go to College or Trade School?
  • What are your educational goals?
  • Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
  • Describe a time or experience in your life that shaped you as a person.
  • How do you define Success?  What traits do you possess that will enhance your ability to be successful?
  • How would your friends/teachers describe you?
  • We have only a limited number of scholarships to offer.  But there are many applicants.  Why should you receive the scholarship, instead of someone else?
  • What one volunteer project would you be excited to see done in Laurel for the greater good?  Would you lead this project or volunteer?
  • Explain a family, social or school situation, in which your leadership made a difference and what was accomplished?


The application deadline for 2021 scholarships is February 28, 2021.

  • The eligible recipient of the scholarship needs to be a resident of the greater Laurel area (Using 59044 zip code as mailing address).
  • The recipient of the scholarship can be attending now or enrolling in the fall in a post-secondary education facility or vocational technology facility.
  • The recipient of the $500 Laurel Chamber of Commerce scholarship must be a graduate of Laurel High School (graduating seniors or past graduates).
